Rating: 10 stars!
After the surprise ending of the last volume, I wasn't expecting it to get this thrilling quite so fast, but HOT DAMN!
(view spoiler)[YES!! BYAKUYA! RENJI! TÔSHIRÔ! KENPACHI! IKKAKU! Soul Reapers in the hizzouse!!
SQUEEEEEE! It felt so good to see Ichigo and Rukia together again.
I love how Rukia always has the tough-love approach to motivate Ichigo. She makes me wish I had her in my corner cheering me on through life's struggles. She's brutally honest and her loyalty is unshakable. A true friend, indeed.
Rukia telling Ichigo to “show them” gave me goosebumps!
And he's baaaaaack! Ichigo has finally regained his full Soul Reaper powers. Woot!
The fact that the Soul Reapers put their own powers together in order to give Ichigo back his own was extremely touching. Damn, I love those Soul Reapers!*cough* especially Byakuya *cough* and Renji *cough cough*
Tôshirô reveals to Ichigo that Ginjô was the very first Deputy Soul Reaper, but his whereabouts have been unknown to the Soul Reapers since he disappeared one day long ago. It turns out Ginjô and the rest of the Fullbringers, except Rurika, were planning on stealing Ichigo's powers all along. When Ginjô shares his stolen powers with the rest of his gang, the real fun begins.
I thought the battles were cleverly done by matching all opponents up with similar counterparts. It made it so exciting and entertaining.
Crazy with crazier: Kenpachi vs. Giriko
Power revenge: Ichigo (and Uryû) vs. Ginjô
The young'uns: Tôshirô vs. Yukio
Brute force: Ikkaku vs. Shishigawara
The battle of the hot sexy badass intellects: Byakuya vs. Tsukishima
Battle of the sexes: Renji vs. Jackie
Kawaii attack!: Rukia vs. Rurika
I really enjoyed all of the battles, but I particularly like the ones with Renji and Rukia. The fight between Renji and Jackie was bittersweet. Renji was so charming being so chivalrous. The end of their fight kind of socked me in the gut. They're both similar in that they do the right thing no matter the consequence. Rukia and Rurika's fight was so amusing and fun. I loved seeing Rukia get riled up by not being able to kill all the cute things.
Rukia and her love of all things kawaii. Hilarious!
Of course, I loved the battle with Byakuya and Tsukishima. It's rare to see anyone challenge Byakuya's capabilities, so that was interesting to witness. I don't like seeing Byakuya get hurt, but it does make the fight more exhilarating!
All of the battles were amazing! I am so eager to find out what happens to Byakuya and poor little Rukia.
This is Bleach back at its finest! You've got exciting epic battles, snarky cocky banter while fighting, feel-good emotions, and SOUL REAPERS! Love, love, love this volume. This makes me want to re-start the series from the very beginning again right this second. This is going down as one of my favorite Bleach volumes so far. Phenomenal!
Love the little drawings of the Soul Reapers in between chapters. Very funny!

Read information about the author久保 帯人, also transliterated Taito Kubo, or Jiu bao dai ren.
The son of a town council member in Fuchu, Aki District, Hiroshima. He never took drawing seriously until he was 17; after reading Dragon Ball he knew he wanted to be a manga artist. At the age of 18 he submitted his first concept for the series Zombiepowder but it got rejected. Zombiepowder was rejected multiple times until Kubo was 22, when it finally was accepted by Shonen Jump. It did not last long; it was cancelled after four volumes in late 2000.
His next series, Bleach, about a high school student who becomes a shinigami and fights hollows, was not such a failure. Bleach began regular publication in 2001. It has been running in Weekly Shonen Jump ever since.
