Read full description of the books Avengers World, Vol. 3: Next World:Brave move, spending page after page on the Eurolab/Euroforce superhero team. Who I could give a living shit about, but I don't even wanna do that much for them. The only character I recognize is the Black Knight/Swordsman, and I don't care about him in the least. The rest of them, no clue nor any whiff of interest.
I mean, what the fuck is a Baby Killer?
Oh wait, actually it looks like Spencer is working "hard" at trying to tell us who *all* the new worldwide characters are, through flashback sequences stitched into the pedestrian generic-battle storyline like a little "one for you, one for me" Bugs Bunny sequence.
This book's plot includes a wild shocking surprise: the evil villains have the upper hand and the fight in the bag, and each (and simultaneously) get their asses handed to them by the various heroes in ways that come out of left field. I have *never* seen that happen before. (*stews in broth of hatred, frustration and fantasy-murder plots for the rest of the morning*)
What the fuck guys, did you just randomly select the villain plot points from a D&D dice bag, then pray that you might come up with a sensible ending if you put *hope* in charge of the script? I'll let you in on a poorly-kept secret: generic plot outcomes are best suited to Canadian syndicated TV programming like Stargate: Universe or Cleopatra 2525 - not to ongoing books whose sales actually *depend* on satisfaction with last month's output.
And lastly, the inevitable cross with an Event I haven't read not have any interest in pursuing (which must be bad, since I've read every Marvel event produced in the period between 2007 and 2014). Bad news: Event spin-off causes creation of short storyline that goes nowhere. Good news: Spencer taps out of this book he's not good at and brings in some fresh talent.
And *fresh* is one way of looking at a Dr. Doom who monologues the shit out of somber self-pity:
Or when he does the "gather a rag-tag team of misfits to take on a big quest" schtick:
(even though I love a good Norse pun)
Speaking some pretty tedious dialogue:
Ugh, it better be worth it to have slogged though all this shit in service of the mighty Reading Order from Comics Herald. You bastards - I bet this is all a prank, isn't it?
